Decru today announced certification of the Decru DataFort storage security appliances with ADIC Scalar tape libraries and Pathlight VX disk-to-tape backup solutions.

Decru DataFort is a turnkey security appliance that provides wire-speed AES-256 encryption for stored data on disk and tape, enabling strong data security without performance tradeoffs.

"For many enterprises, securing data on removable storage media using strong encryption is a key part of their overall data management," said Michele Borovac, director of marketing, Decru. "By combining DataFort appliances with ADIC backup products, customers can build enhanced security and compliance into their storage infrastructure, without sacrificing performance or simplicity."

"ADIC is committed to supporting our customers' full range of security and compliance initiatives while maintaining maximum performance and transparency," said Bryce Hein, ADIC Executive Director of Enterprise Products. "We have worked with Decru to certify the DataFort appliances for operation with ADIC's Scalar libraries and Pathlight VX disk-to-tape backup solutions in high-performance SAN environments."

Decru DataFort security appliances can be deployed transparently across SAN, NAS, DAS, and tape storage environments to provide a range of enhanced data security capabilities. With DataFort, no changes are required to applications, no software agents are required, and DataFort can be deployed in existing environments without taking applications or data offline. DataFort also provides integrated hardware-based data compression, insuring maximum efficiency and minimizing backup windows.

Because data is encrypted transparently by DataFort with storage-optimized AES-256 before it reaches backup storage devices, sensitive information is shielded from administrators, couriers, and vaulting service providers. Security features including Decru Host Authentication, port locking, secure access controls, and crypto-signed logging provide additional layers of protection within the enterprise. DataFort has received numerous government and third-party certifications, and has been adopted by customers on three continents in sectors including financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, semiconductors, manufacturing, aerospace, and government.
