Arbor Networks security experts Dr. Jose Nazario, Dug Song, and Tom Ptacek will speak at a worm defense seminar in Chicago, IL on September 16.
"Get the Dirt on Worms" is part of Arbor Networks' Worm Defense Seminar Series 2004, where industry experts discuss how to defend against rapidly-propagating, zero-day worms.
Existing firewalls and intrusion detection systems proved no match for crippling worms such as Slammer, Blaster and Sasser that wreaked havoc on networks and cost millions in damages and lost revenue. Meanwhile the threat continues to grow. Experts predict "a worm a day" to attack enterprise networks by 2007, with cleanup approaching $250 per desktop.
