v2.0 Extends Benefits of Agent-less Architecture to Enforce Policy Compliance and Offers Seamless Integration with LDAP Systems.

StillSecure announced StillSecure Safe Access v2.0. Safe Access protects the network by ensuring endpoint devices are compliant with an organization's security policies; devices determined to be non-compliant are quarantined or prohibited from accessing the network. Recently named an Information Security magazine "Hot Pick," Safe Access is the only truly agent-less network security policy compliance and enforcement solution available.

Safe Access v2.0 offers a number of new features for tracking and managing endpoint devices, including agent-less support for internal LANs, LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) integration, and an enhanced level of access management and on-the-fly control. Additional features include policies based on MAC address, new compliance tests, and IP/port quarantining.

"StillSecure's Safe Access provides just-in-time security with its quarantine capability," said Pete Lindstrom, Research Director at Spire Security. "Safe Access provides the ability to secure the uncontrolled endpoint while establishing and enforcing a standard policy for network access, whether devices connect through a LAN, VPN or other network connection."

Support for internal devices and seamless LDAP integration

With Safe Access v2.0, an organization's network is now protected from threats introduced via internal endpoints-threats such as file sharing software, spyware, and out-of-date or unpatched operating systems and applications. Requiring no client-side agents, Safe Access v2.0 tests each internal endpoint connecting through the LAN and quarantines those devices that do not comply with the security policy. Tens of thousand of devices can be managed simultaneously. With v2.0, compliance is now enforced for all endpoints -- internal, remote, and wireless devices -- enterprise wide.

Safe Access v2.0 integrates with existing LDAP systems to correlate end user credentials with device information, which allows a single sign-on architecture for all devices accessing the network. Additionally, LDAP integration offers detailed user and device information that enables network administrators to easily contact those with non-compliant devices.

Also new in v2.0

* Dynamic and on-the-fly network access management -- continuous protection through testing, retesting (administrator selectable), and one-click network access options for administrators

* MAC Address Policies -- device-specific access policies based on MAC address

* Additional Compliance Tests -- tests for Windows XP - Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Personal Firewall in addition to updated tests for viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, patches, and security settings

* IP/Port Quarantine -- identify ports (multiple IP addresses) in addition to individual IP addresses and specify network quarantine configurations accordingly

"Safe Access protects the most valuable asset of your IT infrastructure: your network. Safe Access ensures that the devices accessing your network are in compliance with your security policies," said Mitchell Ashley, CTO of StillSecure. "Traditional endpoint solutions like anti-virus, personal firewalls, and host-based IDS focus on locking down the endpoint. StillSecure goes beyond by protecting the network from these endpoints. As part of defining your security policy, Safe Access can enforce the use of A/V, firewalls, and host-based IDS."

"StillSecure Safe Access reduces our risk of infection from non-compliant devices by testing all machines before they log onto the network and only giving access to those that meet our security policy," said Even Quach, network administrator at YMCA of Columbia-Willamette. "Safe Access is so flexible that I can run a report on all machines accessing our network to find out which ones are non-compliant and why. It makes it easy to provide support to people having problems and users now think twice about what they should and should not do."

Pricing and availability

StillSecure Safe Access v2.0 is available immediately from StillSecure or through any of its authorized resellers. Safe Access is available on an annual, fixed-cost subscription basis or through a purchase-plus-maintenance model based on the number of simultaneous connections monitored. Both options include all standard security tests and test updates, software upgrades, and engineer-delivered technical support.
