Presidio Gains Adoption Among Financial Services Firms and Dramatically Reduces Costs of Information Privacy Compliance Using OpenPGP.
Forum Systems announced today that it has released version 3.0 of its Forum Presidio OpenPGP Security Gateway Appliance. Forum Presidio is gaining adoption by influential clients in the strictly regulated financial services sector -- including recent wins with five Fortune 100 firms -- as they strive to comply with mandated information privacy regulations.
"Many organizations are turning to OpenPGP as a means to persistently protect their mission-critical enterprise documents because of its universality. Forum Presidio's Appliance based approach offers the only automated black-box solution that delivers large files with a high degree of reliability, ensuring the confidentiality of data while it is stored on file systems as well as in transit," said Wes Swenson, president and CEO for Forum Systems. "Other software options have proven expensive to develop and maintain due to large licensing fees. Forum Presidio presents dramatic cost savings for OpenPGP deployments because of its appliance-based approach, with the added bonus of a migration path to secure Web services."
Forum Presidio Version 3.0 adds support for large multi-gigabyte file sizes, a key requirement for financial services organizations. Secure file transfer is a critical component of trading partner integration initiatives that facilitate the exchange of business-sensitive files, large transactions volumes, XML data and EDI over the Internet. Other new features include digitally signed audited records and in-flight encryption using patent-pending streaming technology.
According to an Information Security white paper released June 17, 2004 by America's Growth Capital, Forum Presidio "should introduce an interesting new competitive dynamic to an arena dominated by PGP, Entrust and Tumbleweed solutions."
