Westcon Group today announced an agreement with Crossbeam Systems.
Westcon Group will carry Crossbeam's entire product line of award-winning X-Series and C-Series high performance security services switches. As a result of adding Crossbeam to its portfolio, Westcon Group will be able to offer its resellers in North America a scalable, comprehensive, multi-layer security solution that can grow with the needs of customers.
Crossbeam is the pioneer of integrated security devices, and the company's X-Series and C-Series products feature a patent-pending architecture that integrate security applications from leading ISVs onto a single high performance, highly available security services switch. The X80, X45 and X40 are built for large enterprises and service providers, while the C30 and C10 deliver enterprise-strength security to small and medium businesses, as well as remote locations of larger enterprises. All Crossbeam products come loaded with applications from leading security companies such as Check Point, Internet Security Systems, Aladdin, Secure Computing and Trend Micro. These applications can be easily put into service by purchasing the necessary license agreements.
Laurie Usewicz, vice president of product management, Westcon Group North America, commented: "We have been relentlessly educating our VARs about the need for a layered security solution in an environment where network threats continue to grow. These threats affect companies of all sizes, regardless of industry. The Crossbeam product line is truly innovative in that it successfully provides a cost-effective, multi-layered security approach, combined with extremely high performance."
Crossbeam recently received the Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Enhancement Award for Security Technologies based on the new value propositions and lower total cost of ownership its products deliver to customers. The company was also recognized by Growthink Research as a Top Emerging Security Company for 2004.
"Crossbeam has uniquely positioned itself to capitalize on the growing high end security market by offering high performance, low maintenance security platforms that provide customers with an integrated security solution at a lower total cost of ownership," said Jason Wright, security technologies program leader for Frost & Sullivan.
Jay Kane, Crossbeam's vice president of sales for North America, added: "We decided to partner with Westcon Group because the company has a very proactive and effective delivery model through its network of VARs. Westcon Group is a well-established leader in distributing security solutions, and has the required intellectual capital, channel resources and value-added programs to dramatically expand the distribution of our products in the market."
Mike Volk, president of True North Solutions, Inc., a Herndon, VA-based solution provider, commented: "We are pleased that Westcon Group has added the Crossbeam product line to its portfolio. This product line enables us to present another best-of-breed security solution, cost-effectively delivered on a single, high performance platform."
