Google stated in a required SEC filing that it prefers to be listed with Nasdaq . It has been rumored that the New York Stock Exchange has been working feverishly in an attempt to persuade the Worlds largest search engine to list their shares with them.

Google did not specify what trading symbol it intends to use ... but GOOG is available. Nasdaq has been the preferred choice with the tech sector for years starting with Microsoft in the 1980's.

The NYSE issued a statement saying, "Google is an outstanding company with a great management team, and we wish the company well with its initial public offering."
