Following up to a recent WebProNews article about Gmail compatibility issues, news reports by MacMinute and SearchEngineJournal indicate that Gmail has added Mac's Safari web browser to its list of browsers that are supported.

However, Google has not changed its About Gmail page to indicate this support. Currently, the about page shows support for the following browsers:

Microsoft IE 5.5 and newer (Windows)
Netscape 7.1 and newer (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)
Mozilla 1.4 and newer (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)
Mozilla Firefox 0.8 and newer (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)

Previously, Google co-founder Sergey Brin stated that he was "embarrassed" by the lack of support for the Safari browser. If these reports are any indication, it would appear that Brin's displeasure have been addressed.
