Well-developed niche search engines offer a more refined search based on a particular topic. MediSeeker.com offers a search engine that not only specializes in medical search results, but also aims to reduce search result clutter.
Their goal is to offer relevant medical search results without banners and pop-up ads. Speaking of the idea behind MediSeeker.com, GoFish Media founder Peter Da Vanzo offers, "we've decided to provide a clutter-free search engine, and focus entirely on the medical arena. This approach will help provide more relevant results for searchers"
MediSeeker sees itself as more of a specialty search engine rather than one that seeks to challenge Yahoo, Google, and the rest.
"We don't aim to compete with the bigger search engines, but rather provide a complementary service that makes it easy for people to locate relevant medical sites quickly" Da Vanzo says. "For this reason, we focus on medical sites exclusively. We aim for quality listings and relevance, as opposed to indexing sites that have little to offer people who are seeking medical information".
MediSeeker also features a "Free Listing" policy. Provided the site contains pertinent medical content, webmasters can be listed for no charge.
