Would you like fries with your Wi-Fi? If McDonald's has anything to do with it wireless Internet could be coming soon to a burger joint near you.
Here's proof of the changing times. Just a few years ago, who would have imagined we'd be hearing the words "McDonald's" and "Wi-Fi" in the same sentence?
Now, with a slogan proudly proclaiming "I'm lovin' it!" McDonald's has entered an era when hi-tech meshes with French fries.
In the middle of a revitalization campaign, McDonald's is experimenting with the most unlikely of ideas - Internet access, directly from your favorite fast food restaurant.
McDonald's Wi-Fi hot spot access began its testing phase in some major United States cities last year.
The plan was to draw customers in by allowing them to access their favorite websites while savoring their Big Macs and Happy Meals.
However, the service is off to a slow start, at least according to the owner of a San Francisco-based store.
Later this month the company, which has restaurants in over 100 countries and serves around 47 million customers daily, plans to announce its partners in providing this service in its restaurants.
