Though the real NFL season is still several weeks away, it apparently isn't too early to start thinking about Fantasy Football leagues. Early out of the gate this year is last year's fantasy king, Yahoo! Sports with their latest edition of the popular game.
Today Yahoo! Sports announced the opening of this year's installment of their popular Fantasy Football program. Yahoo! Sports enjoyed a great deal of success in last year's fantasy program with more than 3 million players participating. This year Yahoo! hopes to build upon that success with the addition of new features and enhanced coverage of the Fantasy scene. In addition to a full suite of fantasy options, Yahoo! Sports will debut their new football salary cap game free to all Fantasy Footballers offering an innovative 'front office' approach to the game.
Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football is the basic free version of the game. Users will be allowed to add selected premium services on an a la carte basis or opt for more feature-rich PLUS version for a fee. Players can sign up for Free Fantasy Football and Fantasy Football PLUS through October 15. Registration for the new Yahoo! Sports Salary Cap Football will begin in early August.
