INTERNET gamblers should be allowed to bet on sports events while they are in progress, the nation's biggest betting agency has told the federal Government.

Online gambling "in the run", as the system is known, was banned by the Interactive Gambling Act two years ago, but TAB Ltd is lobbying Communications Minister Richard Alston for change in the lead-up to a review of the legislation at the end of the month.
