With over 600,000 unfilled Internet-related jobs in the United States alone, the pressure to provide Internet technology training is currently a high priority for many educational institutions.
As with any maturing technical industry, certifications accepted by the industry at large are indications that the industry has identified and can measure baseline knowledge through advanced skills. In January 2000, CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, added a new certification exam, i-Net+.
