Clicking The Advanced Tab In Outlook Causes Error

Carey Holzman | Contributing Writer
2003-08-27

Hi Carey, I am a computer tech. at a GIS business in Georgetown. I have been introduced to an Outlook Error that I would like to seek help on. In Outlook 2002, click view, click Current View, click Customize Current View, click the Filter button, and then when you click the Advanced Tab a Microsoft error appears saying that Microsoft Outlook needs to close.

I did the detect and repair, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook.

I would appreciate any advice at all.

Sincerely,
George J.

Hi George,

My advice would be to remove any Spam detection software you may have installed and scan for and remove any spyware from the system. Also start your computer in safe mode and see if Outlook works. If so, then you know something loading at startup is causing the conflict.

Good luck!
Carey
