To be clear: Twitter users aren't facing any sort of threat (or at least no new threat related to this fresh development). But a hacker has been able to get hold of all sorts of Twitter's confidential corporate info, and said info now seems very likely to make its way into public sight.

Someone using the handle of "Hacker Croll" was apparently able to utilize password recovery techniques to access a number of accounts used by Twitter's CEO, Evan Williams, along with Williams's wife and a number of Twitter employees.
Michael Arrington reported with regards to the scope of the problem, "Hacker Croll claims he gained access to various Paypal, Amazon, Apple, AT&T, MobileMe and Gmail accounts. . . . He claims he was able to access Twitter's domain name account on GoDaddy and could have redirected the traffic to another IP address."
What's more, Croll came across meeting notes, financial forecasts, phone logs, interview records, and even credit card numbers. Not the sort of stuff that people at Twitter (and/or people who failed to get jobs at Twitter) would want getting out.
But the information has been emailed to at least a few news outlets, and while some of them are holding the sensitive stuff back, it's probably just a matter of time until it's all published.
Let this serve as a good reminder to go take a second look at all of those "mother's maiden name"-type security questions.
