Oracle cited the threat of a successful attack in urging system administrators to apply newly released patches to their systems.
Oracle's Critical Patch Update arrived with 45 security fixes across their product line. Database, application server, and CRM products required attention from Oracle engineers for these fixes.
Several of the flaws could be remotely exploited, according to notes on Oracle's MetaLink site. Out of seventeen issues fixed for Oracle's database products, two of those presented remote exploit possibilities.
The Oracle Application Server's problems merited even more concern. Three of its four vulnerabilities could have been remotely exploited without requiring user authentication.
