Along with fixing several issues in the Firefox browser, the most recent update from Mozilla included some focused on supporting Windows Vista.

A couple of critical memory corruption errors received patching among the eight issues listed for security fixes in the Firefox 2.0.0.2 release.
Firefox engineers also corrected a problem with the way the browser handles certain SSL certificates. Although support for the SSLv2 protocol is disabled by default in Firefox 2 due to other known weaknesses, people who may be testing it in Firefox 2 should be glad to know a couple of buffer overflow issues with it have been fixed.
The Windows Vista fixes come as Microsoft begins its push to get its latest operating system out to consumers, and more importantly filling its revenue stream. Firefox has a few caveats listed regarding the browser and Vista.
Some of those include noting that Vista does not provide a plugin for Windows Media Player. Viewing that content in Firefox requires a workaround listed in the release notes. Also, Vista Parental Controls are not completely honored in Firefox.
File download Parental Controls are not honored at all. Support for Parental Controls will be addressed in an upcoming release of the browser.
For those Vista users who may be migrating from Internet Explorer 7 to Firefox 2, cookies and save form history won't be imported automatically. That would mean a little inconvenience as the person would have to visit sites to set preferences and enter data to be stored again for Firefox to retain it.
