Question: I am having trouble reinstalling the Flash player. I do not know how my Flash player got removed from my computer, but no matter what I do it will not install. There are some sites that I go that tell me I need to install a Flash player and it says to click here to install. Well, I click to install the player but nothing happens. I go back to the site that told me I needed to install a player and it tells me the same
thing again. My computer is a year old and it has Windows XP on it. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

Carey's Response:

Hi Lisa, try this:

To install Flash Player 6, let's use the following steps:

Step 1 Delete the cookies, temporary Internet files, history and so on:

1. Launch Internet Explorer, then select Tools > Internet Options.

2. In the General tab, click Delete Cookies to delete the cookies.

3. Click Delete Files, place a check mark from Delete all offline content, and then click OK.

4. Click the Settings button, click the View Files button, you can find and delete all the temporary Internet files.

5. Click the View Objects, you can find and delete the objects.

6. Close the Settings dialog, then select the Content tab.

7. Click AutoComplete, then you can clear forms and passwords.

Step 2 Load Internet Explorer default settings:

1. Launch Internet Explorer.

2. Choose "Internet Options" on "Tools" menu.

3. Click the Security tab, and then click Internet.

4. Click the "Default Level" button.

5. Repeat step 1 - 4 to set "Trusted sites", "Local Intranet", "Restricted Sits" to "Default Level".

6. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Restore Defaults.

7. Click the Privacy tab, and then click the Advanced button.

8. Clear the check mark from Override automatic cookie handling (if it's enabled).

9. Click Ok twice.

Step 3 Install Flash Player 6

Hope this helps,
Carey
