A new security flaw has been discovered in the Google toolbar. This flaw could ultimately allow the execution of malicious scripts.
“The Google Toolbar 'ABOUT.HTML' page allows the injection of HTML and JavaScript code. This vulnerability may allow an attacker to inject malicious HTML and script code into the about page of the vulnerable application.” according to SecurityFocus.com.

Internet Attacks… From The Land Down Under? The number of Internet attacks originating in Australia is on the rise, according to the latest report by Symantec.
The report found that Australia had climbed in the rankings of top countries of attack origin.
Cisco Helping With Disaster Recovery. Cisco has unveiled two SAN products that will supposedly help companies elude or recover quickly from disasters affecting corporate data.
"The new products and features introduced today will help our customers transport storage traffic over metro and wide area networks faster, more securely, and more cost-efficiently," Cisco Data Center, Switching and Wireless Technology group senior vice president Luca Cafiero said in a statement. "This makes our new products ideal for business continuance applications such as disaster recovery and remote tape backup."
Both the MDS 9216i and the MDS 9000 (currently in testing) support SAN-OS 2.0, which is the latest version of Cisco’s MDS 9000 OS.
Hackers Are After Your Money. If your system is vulnerable, you could be an easy target for a hacker seeking financial gain, Symantec has warned in their latest report.
E-commerce has become the most targeted industry; this statement comes from the latest Internet Security Threat Report. It seems that hackers are caring more for the money than the notoriety.
"We have certainly seen variants before but not at this rate," said John Donovan, managing director of Symantec, "generally the number of standard viruses is the same."
"We have seen a pretty rapid shift in the style of threats by hackers as they focus more on key-logging and phishing scams for financial gain," he said.
According to Donovan, many businesses still do not have an “appropriate level of security”.
Jail Time Increase For Fraudulent Web Users.
Yesterday, the House of Representatives approved a bill that increases the jail time for identity thieves and web users who use fake identities to register web sites.
According to a study done in 2003, 10 percent of the Internet’s 30 million domain names were registered using false identities.
"The government must play a greater role in detecting those who conceal their identities online," said Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith, a sponsor of the Bill.
